Right Handed: Cutting Tools

These are right handed scissors. If you are left-handed, you will need to order a left-handed pair. But before that, make sure that the child cuts with his left hand. I'm left-handed at most things, including writing, but cutting with scissors with my left hand is totally unnatural. I turned out to be a crooked left-hander who needs scissors for his right hand. (I know I can't be the only one.) You can't control what color scissors you get. We get a purple-green pair. My boys don't care what color they are, but I think a lot of boys don't need purple scissors. You can choose whether you want pointed or blunt ends, so make sure you have the pair you want to highlight before ordering. In terms of cutting, they cut nicely smooth. They are sharp and cut well. However, they look strange at first and I think many kids will be disappointed with them. They feel wrong trying to cut. I know they're for proper wrist position and all, but they're taking a bit of getting used to, at least for me. My kids didn't seem to mind and the target age is 4-6 years old. I put them next to other school scissors and they grab them just like the others. However, in general they are good if you are hoping to help your kid get a better haircut. They look like strong, well-made scissors.
