Don't forget to read below for my 6 month update! I can't get to the laces right now. They are comfortable, seem well made for the price, I would probably buy a second pair but I've only been wearing them for a week. I bought 13ws. I usually buy 13 4Es because I have a very wide foot. When first putting them on they were either tight or loose like a shoe and I'm comfortable. I would buy a 13 4E in flip flops if I could find them. I bought the Eastland on purpose because years ago I bought a pair of Eastland chukkas that are VERY WIDE and ones that are 13D so I was hoping they still happen to be making wide shoes. Stay on your feet, you won't get out of them and my heel seems to stay in place. I had another brand of Romeo a few years ago that I kind of "dropped out" from. Only time will tell how they hold up. The leather looks good, the stitching looks good and the price is very reasonable. UPDATE 3/14/2015, 6 MONTHS since purchase, wore these shoes part time, mostly around the house and shop when the weather was bad. good (not often). I live on a farm so I wear some kind of boots most of the time, for me these are rather heavy slippers, slippers don't work here, we don't have carpets in the house. Feedback on the splitting of the sole of this shoe, today I noticed that both of my shoes have two large cracks in the sole of the shoe that run through the entire sole. That means the soles are out of order. Now that the snow/ice has melted I popped them into the store, stepped on a very shallow puddle (maybe 1/8 inch deep) and noticed both of my feet/socks got wet. Not sure how long they had been jumping due to an unusually cold winter, this is the first meltdown of any kind. I also fell with it, on the ice just outside to get mail, giving me whiplash and a resulted in a broken arm. not fitting shoes for icy conditions, probably not, in hindsight I like the shoes (comfortable and comfortable) but now that they have worn out very prematurely I would not buy them again given the actual length of wear Originally planned to buy the second pair I am buying as I have a wide foot it is difficult to find shoes that fit my size and I like them. I kind of messed everything up. I have another pair of oriental shoes that are over 15 years old and I still sometimes wear the ones that hold up great and are very wide like my feet. I changed my rating to 1 star as the service will be out of service soon. I don't expect my shoes to last forever, but I would like them to last a year before they really fall apart. I'm fine with any schedule as long as I "wear it out" but if you look at my photo I posted you can see the bottom shows very little wear, just unlucky. If you buy them, I wish you good luck!
