I use a Snap Circuits Jr SC-100 in K-6 technology class at a public school. My students just LOVE them! The instructions are easy enough for my first graders to follow after a short demonstration, and the projects vary in difficulty to keep even sixth graders interested. Several projects require a cup of water to demonstrate that water is a conductor, prompting students to experiment with what other materials are conductors as well. There are also blueprints for adding speakers, playing Happy Birthday, creating sirens, motion-activated alarms, and a doorbell. I also bought this set for my 8 year old son and he will sit much longer than normal when using snap chains. I ordered, one piece in a set was defective and two pieces broke after weeks of intensive use in class. I went to the Elenco website and filled out the parts order form and they shipped me three parts free of charge within 10 days. Excellent customer service! I recommend and will continue to recommend this product to parents to encourage creative play in the family (or individually if the child is over 7 or 8 years old) and to encourage STEM and electrical engineering.[.]
