This product does not work well directly on brass. Tried to soak for more than 10 hours and nothing. I tried painting a coat on it after the 7th layer, I only had the initial greens or maybe my eyes were playing tricks at that point. Also remember that the consistency is very close to that of water so it won't stay exactly where you poured it. It can work great with the metal finishes they sell, but I wouldn't waste my money on my own. I ended up using the salt and vinegar steam method and it worked fantastic.
