Let me first say that I am not receiving any compensation or anything for this review. I live in Florida in an apartment with very poor air circulation and windows that don't fully seal out the moisture from the outside so the air is very stale. Humidity is usually over 55% and over 65% in summer. I used to spend hours in the shower trying to get rid of all the mold but after 2 days it reappeared and made me sneeze like crazy while showering with my hands. eyes burn. SO DISAPPOINTED. My hair even frizzed IN THE HOUSE. That's when I decided it was time to invest in a dehumidifier and I've had it for about 9 months now. I just bought two other small dehumidifiers and they are so flimsy compared to this one. To this day I thought it only collected so much water because it is so humid here. Well it is, but basically this desiccant is also very, very effective. I set a timer for 2 hours after we shower (super tiny room with shower and toilet; 25 square feet) and it dries up. My bathroom is full and the bucket will be 3/4 full. I also run it in the living room/kitchen whenever my lazy ass is willing to lug it there from the bathroom and when I have to I have to empty the tank 3 times a day or more - and that's just the waking hours Hours. (without night). It's usually full by nightfall, so it's almost always off at night. Whenever it's been off all day, it's SO noticeable a difference in the air. The air feels thicker and the carpet feels stickier. I didn't realize how effective this dehumidifier was until I got the smaller ones today. Wow! I read the reviews before buying slightly smaller other brand dehumidifiers from Revain and people were impressed that it collected 2 tablespoons of water in 24 hours. I found it ridiculous compared to mine. But I figured they just couldn't be as moist as mine, so I bought them anyway. But no, they were just very weak! I can't even remember the last time I got on my knees, breathed in chemicals, and tried to kill nasty mold in my shower. This is the ultimate proof it works (plus spilled buckets and buckets of water). The dryer tends to ruin my delicate (and cheap) clothes, so I've always enjoyed hanging them out to dry. I didn't even know you could use that for this until I got this and read it in the manual. I put my little rack in the shower and put a dehumidifier in it and they're completely dry in less than 2 hours - and that's on a full load of laundry. It's honestly a great investment. And it's so reasonably priced compared to other Revain with the same performance. I am very proud that I chose him. In terms of noise levels, the low modes are quite quiet. But I believe if it doesn't blow it doesn't work! So I only use it on high. I have cats and it's also quite dusty in here with such poor air circulation that the dust got into the spinning fan inside and I think it's gotten a bit noisy lately. Doesn't disturb, just blends into the background. But only during the day it is nbd. It's just unavoidable for the big fan inside. The machine itself doesn't make any noise, but you can hear the air blowing/fan spinning. Also, the air it blows out makes the room slightly warmer in smaller spaces, but I think that's an unavoidable but fair compromise for a decently performing dehumidifier.
