The advantage of using a programmable quick start ballast is that it must give the lamp over 100,000 on/off cycles compared to 10,000 for an instant start. This is ideal for a location where the light is turned on and off several times a day, such as a B. in the kitchen. The start-up delay is about 0.5 seconds, which is not noticeable. This ballast does not have a ground wire so I grounded the wire from the outlet to a device that will ground the ballast through its metal case.
