Our cat is 14 yo and has some arthritis. Now that cooler weather is upon us, Kitty was suffering stiff joints and general aches - or at least we think that’s why she has been so demanding during the night. The very first night I set this up for her, she slept thru most of the night. She’d get up to do her business and go back to her bed - no yowling! 😊. The cord is plenty long and that’s good. Kitty is not a "chewer” so I can’t speak to the covering on the cord. We purchased the smaller size and it’s plenty big enough for our 11 lb. cat. The lights on the control switch are bright but we just turn it over and it’s fine (she sleeps in our bedroom). The only complaint I have is the numbers on the control panel are hard to see in dim light if I want to change - i.e. I wanted to turn down the heat setting last night and ended up getting my phone so I could have enough light to see the panel. Not a big deal but would be nice if they were as bright as the dots for settings are. Overall, I would recommend.
