The machine itself looks and feels good, it's definitely powerful and a little lighter than the Makita, definitely and significantly lighter than other polishers like the Milwaukee 5460 (I hope so ) . as tough and durable as this Milwaukee). The only problem I find is the start, it's not soft at all, it goes from zero to around 7/800 rpm when the trigger is pulled first then it goes down to 600 (within the next second) , so the launch produces a short, but a sharp jerk with every first pull of the trigger. hopefully this will change with use once the gears on the machine loosen a bit. I am ordering this machine for the first time and am sending it back for a replacement. I didn't notice any difference when testing them out of the box. Overall the car runs well, my only problem is starting, there is always a good spray of anything. can be between the polishing pad and the surface to be treated. Polishing paste, water, polishing powder or similar, there are always good splashes!
