Not perfect but good for the price.

I'm very interested in woodworking so I'm always excited to try new parts. I use my routers and routers a lot and the bits have come in handy. First impression, they are pretty well packaged. Comes in a wooden box which is not perfect but more than good. Of course, the box is ideal for storing all these little things. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get the bits out due to the tight fit and limited space, so you may want to wear gloves to avoid cutting yourself. There are no special requirements for the storage box. And there are so many different bits in this set. Pretty much any type you need. It's incredibly handy to have this selection on hand when you need it. I also love how they included a big chart that shows all the beats and more importantly shows the profiles of each beat. Very nice to have. If I was picky, why didn't they make the chart the right size to fit in the box? It fits, but it's a little big and flexes a little. Why didn't they scale down the diagram and tape it to the inside of the box cover? Grabbed one of the bits, threw it in the router table to spin. Used a straight bit and I have to say it cuts well. Cut straight and fast. It actually cuts better and faster than the more expensive other brands I've used a few minutes before. As you can see in the picture the result is a nice smooth groove. It breaks out because the wood is cheap pine and splits easily. I don't blame the bat for escaping. I have some "yellow" bits and they are fine. They're cheaper and cheaper for a reason. They almost always cut well, but don't last as long and don't keep their blades sharp as long as well-known brands. But this set is ideal for those who do DIY from time to time. This isn't something you want to use to chop down 1000 feet of oak. And those yellow parts usually lose their yellow coating pretty quickly. As you can see from my test cut, the finish/coating starts to peel off after just a few cuts. It doesn't spoil the haircut, it just doesn't last long. All in all a good set for the price. As long as you don't expect them to last forever I would recommend.

Pros
  • The most beautiful gift for him is a widely used combination cutting set with a classic box and A3 poster. Beautiful and perfect for a husband or boyfriend as a surprise gift.
