Better than glass. easy to use, well constructed, durable, unbreakable, insulated to maintain temperature during brewing, easy to clean, beautiful appearance. No complaints. with a medium grind and brews great coffee! The coffee press comes highly recommended and the price couldn't be better. My method is to fill the carafe with hot water first so it gets hot. Then I measure the right amount of water in the kettle and bring it to a boil. While the water is boiling, I grind the beans. (medium grind works well in this press) After the water boils, I set it aside for 30 seconds and pour out the water heated in the carafe, measuring and adding the right amount of coffee. Then I add hot water from the kettle to the ground coffee and stir with a wooden spoon for 1 minute, then put the filter and lid on the press and let the coffee steep for 4-5 minutes. Finally, when the time is up, slowly push the plunger all the way down and the coffee is ready.
