I needed to run 12 gauge wire under my driveway for landscape lighting. The barrel was about 65 feet long and had a 90 degree turn. This fish tape had great trouble passing the knee at a 90 degree angle. The PVC pipe was 2 inches in diameter. The elbow was about 3 feet from the end of the barrel. I tried to enter both ends but still couldn't get through the elbow. I ended up cutting off the hook end of the fishing line but still no luck. Finally I pulled out the pipe (the part not under the concrete) to get to the knee. After that I was ready to go. The bottom line is that this tape is very stiff and not flexible enough to go through an empty 90 degree turn on a 2 inch PVC pipe. I wouldn't want to try an even smaller tube or one that already has wire running through it. But for less than $25, it was worth running the rest of the 60 foot wire under the concrete. The device was simple and easy to remove and remove the tape.
