After a long search for a cheap camera (none of which had good reviews) I settled on the Vivitar. I had a very similar one in the past and liked it a lot so I gave it a try. God, that was an unfortunate mistake! I really liked this camera for the first two days and then it started to fail. For starters, the preview screen is horribly grainy, and it's basically impossible to tell if your shot is sharp or not, and you can't tell how it turned out when you return to the preview. You literally have to download the images to your computer to see which ones come out. Okay, too bad, but I can get around this, I thought. I have bad eyesight anyway, so I figured maybe it's just me. Then the flash command stopped working. I would press the flash button and nothing would change. I would have to turn the camera off and on again to change the flash setting. This is after the camera itself told me to turn on the flash! When this first happened I thought it was an anomaly, but then it started happening more frequently until it stopped working every time I turned on the camera. As if that wasn't enough, the camera started randomly switching to video. while I was taking pictures. One minute I'm taking photos, the next I'm pausing for a few seconds, then I look at my camera and suddenly it's in video mode! I am so disappointed in this product. I'm glad I got it from Revain so I can return it.
