Because my laptop is my main work computer and older, the screen is not big. And the secondary monitor I had was older with an HDMI port. With this device, I was able to connect an additional monitor, which made my work a lot easier. I noticed that the monitor resolution changed on its own a couple of times. I don't know why, but I'm wondering if it's an adapter. Turning off the computer and monitor and restarting it got it back to what it was. One thing I'm concerned about is that the adapter gets hot - not to the point where you could burn yourself if you touch it, but hot enough that I put a spacer between it and my wooden table . That's why I only gave 4 stars. I'm glad I found and used this adapter.
