Bought this bottle to make vanilla extract. I needed a bottle large enough to hold the vanilla beans and large enough to top with enough vodka to completely cover the vanilla beans. More than enough bottles. He does more than necessary. It's quite large and has an airtight cap on the bottle. I chose this bottle not only for its functionality but also for its beauty. Along with other cheaper versions I've had, I liked that this bottle has a ribbed design and an Italian emblem. Very pretty! Not strictly necessary, but if I'm going to keep the extract in there and add it for years to come, I want something that's nice to look at! It was pretty cheap. The only negative, and that's not even a problem anymore, it took me a little while to figure out how to close. My husband and I found it out together. Now, when I take my bottle of extract out of the cupboard, I'm happy with the progress and remember what a beautiful bottle I have!
