Review on πŸ“· Fotodiox Pro Black Camera Hand Grip for Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four-Thirds Digital Camera with Battery Access - All Metal by Troy Caldwell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The metal construction and price make this product a good alternative to Olympus offerings

This product is a reliable and more affordable alternative to its Olympus counterpart. It has solid metal construction and fits well. The version I got seemed a little difficult pulling up to the camera body when turning the thumbscrew, but after the first two times it worked. Compared to the Olympus version, this is the ability to access the graphics card battery compartment without removing the grip. The Olympus version allows for a "Quick Release" version that adds about $20 to the cost of the item. The Fotodiox version leaves a space below for access. Due to the design of the chamber, the angle and depth of this cavity, it's a bit difficult to open the door all the way, and since the spring doesn't push it all the way out, removing the SD card isn't exactly easy. need to replace the SD card FAST because of a "working" situation, then this may not be the right choice due to the risk of damaging or losing the SD card or the bay door.
