Yes and no, please read!

When it arrived I was thrilled. All-metal powder-coated metal with a beautiful wooden handle. This gives the em10 mark iii more grip. Not that the camera needed it, but the extra grip made me feel more secure. Then came the problem. After using it for about an hour, my palm started to hurt. After examining it, I noticed that there is a sharp point where the handle fits in your palm. Ouch!. When I looked at the camera, Olympus round the corner of the camera, good technique! There is no one on…

Best ergonomics for battery grips

I was looking for a grip for my OM-D EM-5 and since I didn't need a battery holder or other extended functionality, I decided to use the Fotodiox- model at a very reasonable price. For me it was due to the better ergonomics and the camera actually works much better now. The fit is perfect and discreet, ie it doesn't look like a foreign body when installed. However, I initially had trouble fitting the camera properly - hard to believe as only one screw is required, but for some reason it took a…

  • Almost everything there

This product is a reliable and more affordable alternative to its Olympus counterpart. It has solid metal construction and fits well. The version I got seemed a little difficult pulling up to the camera body when turning the thumbscrew, but after the first two times it worked. Compared to the Olympus version, this is the ability to access the graphics card battery compartment without removing the grip. The Olympus version allows for a "Quick Release" version that adds about $20 to the cost of…

Adds the perfect support with virtually no weight!

I recently switched from a DSLR to a mirrorless camera (yes, I know I did it the other way around. That's a long story). When I first opened the box and held it in my hands, my first thought was that it was too small to hold comfortably and that I should probably take it. The only two grips for the E-M10 on the market (currently) are this and the Olympus branded grip. I spent a week looking for something to buy; The Fotodiox price was attractive, but the Olympus has a texture that matches the…

Great grip, solves all my Olympus case issues!

This little guy is definitely one of the best Oly EM5mkII grips. I've always found that without some form of grip the EM5mkII just doesn't feel well in my hand, my fingers just clench a bit. So I bought some pens. I first bought an Olympus grip to fit the battery (I didn't buy an extra battery compartment, just a grip that fits between the case and the extra battery compartment) and it worked fine. This is a fantastic guy and great when you put on some big lenses like 12-40 2.8 or 40-150 2.8…

High quality alternative handle assembly.

I've always been surprised by the tiny size of the gear for m43s cameras. I don't know why, I know exactly how tiny the E-M10 is; it's just that the photos in the catalog always kind of enlarge things. Photos give them more "presence". It's no different with the Fotodiox Pro Grip for the E-M10. When I opened the box I was surprised at how small it was. It fits my camera like a glove. The claim that the user has easy access to the battery and memory card connector is correct. The A/V HDMI…
