Convenient portable monitor with good picture quality

Before reviewing, I tested this monitor in different settings, so read the details below! Overall: A good portable monitor for working while traveling, watching videos in a group, and playing video games on the go (with a 60Hz refresh rate, which you won't use for tournaments, but it was fine for Switch gaming the big screen when I was on bed rest after an injury). Overall, it performed well in all my tests, although the refresh rate could be a bit slower than advertised (see below). The only real downside to this model is that it draws more power than some USB-C powered devices, so it's only really fully functional when AC power is present. However, this is the case with any externally powered monitor. On the plus side, the lack of an internal battery means you can (neatly) pack one in your checked luggage when traveling! Inputs: HDMI and USB-C inputs worked flawlessly. I've tested it in both modes with two laptops (both running Windows 10) and in HDMI with just a Nintendo Switch. (Please note that if you use HDMI you will need to connect an AC adapter as HDMI does not power the monitor.) Peripherals: All the cables you need for standard use are included: USB-C, HDMI to mini- HDMI, USB AC adapter and AC USB-C power adapter if you use HDMI or power a small device like cellphone. The included cables have a shorter side, so you may need extension cords for some setups. It took me a few minutes to figure out the magnet case; Unlike other cases I've used, you have to completely remove the case from the screen and fold it back in to use it as a stand. However, once in place, it holds the screen securely. The case has a textured finish and appears to be fairly scratch resistant. (I also used it as a travel pad for my optical mouse.) The manual isn't very helpful aside from a list of connectors (although two models are described, so be sure to check this one out). There's also a microfiber cloth for cleaning the screen if you don't already have 27 of these lying around at home. :) Picture quality: the colors are bright, the picture is clear. The native resolution is 1980 x 1080, and Full HD videos looked very clean. No flickering or dead pixels on the device I received. At maximum brightness, the screen can be viewed outdoors on a sunny day if protected from direct sunlight. The screen has a glossy finish, so reflections in bright areas were an issue (although you could put an anti-glare screen protector on the screen if you really want to use it in these conditions). Screen Performance: The refresh rate is nominally 60Hz, although the framerate test showed slight ghosting at 60fps. However, it wasn't noticeable when watching videos or playing games, so most applications shouldn't be affected. (Presumably this monitor also supports FreeSync, but I haven't tested it with anything that outputs variable frame rates, so I can't comment on performance.) Touchscreen: While it only works when connected to a PC via USB-C. The touchscreen felt accurate and responsive. I was able to open files and navigate Windows with a light touch. The monitor settings menu is also activated by touch. Speakers: Audio is weak and quiet, but that's to be expected from any monitor, especially one as ultra-thin as this one. The audio is fine for things like OS notifications, but you'll likely need external speakers/headphones to watch movies or play games. A headphone jack is built into the side of the monitor in case you are unable to connect headphones or speakers to a video output device for some reason. Menu: The settings menu (there are three) can be opened by pressing the power button on the left side of the monitor and using the right and left arrow keys to navigate through the menus. Settings can be toggled on and off with a tap, even when the monitor is not in touchscreen mode (connected to a PC via USB). In addition to input source selection and brightness and volume control, the menu offers a variety of presets for gaming, movies, etc., as well as a low blue light mode. You can also set custom lighting and color settings. Overall, this monitor performs well and offers a number of nice features, including versatility for use with multiple devices and environments.
