Review on ILG8SFRC Smart Exhaust Fan Remote Control Kit - White for iLiving Products by Melissa Perez

Nice feature, but the controls are a bit confusing.

It seems to be a very high quality device. It turns the fan on or off based on temperature or relative humidity, and automatically adjusts the fan speed (high, medium, low). The battery operated remote control displays the temperature at the remote controlled 110V socket (called the loft) or the location of the remote control. Manual control allows the fan to run at any time and at any of the available speeds. There is a slight delay between selecting a speed configuration and the fan accepting the new settings; This delay is necessary because the parameter setting uses a cyclic menu that cycles through all the parameters before returning to the beginning. Operating the controls is unintuitive, which is a shame as there are many well-labeled buttons that have unnecessarily limited, unintuitive functions. The power supply is solid, with temperature and humidity sensors. The remote control has a well-functioning wall bracket. The remote control itself is lightweight and seems "inexpensive". The remote goes into a power saving mode, which is probably great for saving batteries, but in this mode the device screen doesn't show any useful information. You have to press the power button once to wake up the controller, after that you can see the attic or room temperature (press the temperature button to toggle between them) and also see the current relative humidity. You can also set either the minimum temperature or the minimum temperature and relative humidity values used to trigger the fan. The fan starts to work when the temperature or humidity exceeds one of these minimum values. Overall this is a good device, but it could be improved with better controller software.
