Review on ๐Ÿšด SUPERTEAM 700C Carbon Fiber Road Bike Wheelset - 50mm Matte Clincher Wheels with 23mm Width by Jay Williams

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Normal wheelset for the price. 3k miles on mine and such. well not so much, broken axle.

I have ridden about 1000 miles on this wheelset mounted on a BMC SLR01 frame with an 11 speed Ultregra system. I'm having a few issues with the front wheel's seaming not being right along the braking surface. The seller took care of me by replacing the front wheel and the new front wheel works great. These wheels are very light and stiff and can be used on wide road types after 1000 km. I run them with 25c tires for a very comfortable ride and they fit the rims really well. I run 60mm valve stem tubes with no issues (expect some flats. lol). I'm currently using the blue brake pads that come with the wheels and they seem to be working fine. I avoid riding this wheelset in the rain as I expect poor braking from the carbon anyway. This winter I plan to keep them and ride my old set of AL wheels with stock brake pads. This spring I will be releasing this wheelset again and maybe even starting to ride it. Note that the rear hub is quite noisy, but that doesn't bother me. However, it is not as loud as my DT sockets. I would still recommend these as your first carbon wheelset. Pros: Good price. A lightweight. stick to the truth Supplied with brake pads. ) The included brake pads are just average. I will update more as I accumulate more miles on them. 3K update: They are still very loyal and in storage over the winter months (to keep the braking surface in good condition). I disassembled the hubs as they get a bit rough. The front hub is still smooth and clean. The back is a different story. I need to replace the bearings before I get it back on the road in spring. My rear hubs have two 6902 bearings and two 6802 bearings. It also has 6 rear pawls which is nice to see. The rim and spokes still look very good with no major issues. I think the wheels could use better steel bearings as the 3K is on the bearings (which have only been in the rain 2-3 times) and the rear end wears out a bit quickly. Another update: worked with the seller to replace the rear wheel. due to bad bearings but after about 500-700 miles they were weird. I took it off the bike and the rear axle broke in half! Now I'm waiting for the seller to fix it. I don't think there is a way to take the hub apart at the moment, so the rear wheel is currently unusable until I get a replacement. At the moment I'm lowering my rating due to two major issues I was having with them at the time. Another update: the axle broke and now the spoke nipples are breaking too. My rear wheel was noisy so I took it off and it has a broken axle? So I contacted them again and they sent me a replacement socket which I had to take to the shop to have the parts replaced. Now it works. So the two rear spoke nipples on the non-drive side broke in the last two weeks? So, I've replaced them for now, but I'm wondering how many more problems? I'd say these wheels are good if you get your mileage down to around 1,000 a year. Now I ride 200 miles a week (on three sets of different bikes) and also race 1-2 times a week. These wheels are not for my riding style, they cannot withstand such a load.
