I have used these scissors twice to cut my hair and they work great! Ordinary scissors are very sharp and cut hair easily. The shading scissors are great too, they cut through my thick hair well. Be sure to watch the YouTube video before you start hacking. There are right and wrong ways to comb your hair. I don't use the extra bobby pins or comb that comes with the kit, but it's nice to have them included. The case is a bonus too, it's nice and compact and easily slips into a desk drawer.
