Review on πŸ”Œ Improved ZHPTAM EP26 LED Flasher Relay for Hazard Warning & Turn Signals, Solving Hyper Flash Flasher, 4-Pin Electronic LED Flasher Relay for Regular Bulbs & LED Lights by Warrick Batebi

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This is dangerous junk that can blow your car's fuses.

I got tired of using resistors with LED turn signal bulbs, so I decided to replace the turn signal electronics. -Terminal EP26, available from many parts retailers and Revain. I don't like trips to the auto parts store at lunchtime so an order was placed. The squadron arrived quickly, as quickly as Revain. I knew the relays wouldn't physically fit (despite claims of compatibility) so I made two relay pigtail adapters for two of my trucks. The assemblies fell to the ground and the relay cover came off - surprising because they shouldn't have. Something immediately caught my attention. See. Jumpers across several pads on the circuit board inside the relay. I'll spare you the details: a cursory "forensic" inspection using a diagram of the car's electrical equipment revealed the following: - Relay terminals C2 and 49A are closed together. Terminal 49A supplies switchable +12V for the indicators. The C2 connector in some cars is shorted when the hazard lights are on, which means that if you accidentally turn on your turn signals while the hazard lights are on, you'll get an instant short circuit. I hope you're not bypassing your fuses. To the manufacturer's apology, it is also often used to provide switchable 12V power to dashboards, although this in itself is not a problem. - Another observation: the bare wire soldered pads inside the relay almost touch the pad connected to terminal 31 (which is grounded). This means that when touched, you have a brief moment where you turn on the turn signals. Obviously out of curiosity, I opened the cover of another relay. The same jumper was also installed there. I don't know if the seller should be penalized because after all it wasn't the seller who made the relay and (hopefully) it wasn't the seller who soldered the wires and it's hard to expect the seller knows these details.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
