My bike tire leaks quite often and I usually use the best practice of fixing punctures with rubber glue and patches first. But recently I've been trying to add Slime Sealer to patches as a "backup" plan. And for me, adding the slime really reduces the number of times I have to take the tire off the bike, remove the tube, and glue a new set of patches onto the small punctures. I have found that at some point (it could be a year, year and a half, two years etc.) I will need to patch/replace the hose as the slime is no longer flexible enough to stop small leaks, but at least for that period of time I have reduced the number of patches I need to apply.
