It's at the entrance. As long as you don't damage the air filter or air intake tube (rubber, plastic, or metal), you don't have to worry about welds inside this pup. It doesn't draw that much air. External welds were excellent with no gaps. The paint quality is bad, but what the heck. If you've ever installed one of those intake horns, you know damn well you're going to scratch that thing, whether it's the $45 or $150 one...which one would you rather scratch?
