I find the thermostat works as expected. I had a bad radiator so I replaced it and the thermostat on my 2000 Mazda Miata NB. I think I should have replaced it with the standard thermostat as suggested on the forum. Nothing against this thermostat, it works as intended but I'm still hesitating at 220F with a full Spectra Premium CU2268 heatsink which I also bought from Amazon. However, I am also in Texas. The car warms up a little faster as it stays closed until around 190. I've heard that Mazda's OEM thermostat has a dual temperature spring or sensor that allows for a more gradual opening, which forums say is obviously better.
