Review on ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ Adonit Pixel (Black) Smart Creative Stylus with Pressure Sensitivity, Point Tip, Palm Rejection, Shortcut Buttons, Bluetooth 4.0 for iPad/Pro/Air/Mini, iPhone 11/Pro Max/XR/XS/10 or Newer by Michael Willis

Rarely works when palm rejection is enabled.

I bought this because the FAQ section on the Notes Plus website said it was the best option. The Adonit Pixel Stylus is VERY UNRELIABLE. Sometimes he writes, in most cases no matter how I stick it in my iPad's screen, he won't even make a point! I am using an Apple iPad mini 4 6 months old with the latest IOS. I do NOT have a screen protector so it can't get in the way. Here is my experience starting with battery at 100%. All programs say that Adonit Pixel is connected. I installed the latest versions of the programs below and did a COLD BOOT on my iPad. Therefore, these patch attempts did not fix the problem. With Notes Plus it works fine until I turn on palm rejection, then it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get the Adonit Pixel to write at all. I've tried palm up and palm down (palm touching the screen). there is no difference. With ArtRage, I really have to plug the Adonit pixel into the screen for it to start drawing. There is no way to turn off palm rejection, so I can't test this app without palm rejection. I've tried palm up and palm down (palm touching the screen). no matter. With MediBang Paint it mostly works when pen pressure is off and palm rejection is off. When I turn on palm rejection, I can't even draw a solid line. Lines are either a series of dots or dashes of varying sizes. I've tried palm up and palm down (palm touching the screen). no difference. In other words, the pen appears to turn on and off as you draw. Very intermittent. Sometimes it "starts" to draw briefly when I press and hold the "ON" button, but that only works briefly because it turns off after 10 seconds. Also, there doesn't seem to be a downloadable user guide! All I received was a quick start guide printed on the box and a paper duplicate of the same information inside. There is no user manual, just a "quick start guide" WHICH DOES NOT ILLUSTRATE HOW TO: 1. How to charge the battery, 2. How long to charge it before first use, 3. How long the Pixel will last on a single charge. 4. What kind of battery? 5. How do I turn it off? All in all I had a VERY BAD experience with this device and went back to my Wacom Bamboo which works great in all of these programs.

Pros
  • Pressure Sensitivity and Palm Rejection With 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and improved palm rejection, writes and draws pixels where and how you want.

This might be a good choice if you cannot use Apple Pencil on an older iPad.
