Works on iPad 9.7 " 2017 (Non-Pro)

I was concerned that the Adonis Pixel would not be pressure sensitive on my new 2017 iPad which does not have a pressure sensitive screen but works as advertised All of the drawing apps listed on the Adonit website connect to the pixel pen via Bluetooth and use onscreen stylus pressure. The buttons I use to undo and redo work fine, although I still remember the feel of the buttons. If you can't afford the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil combo, don't worry, you can still create art without spendingโ€ฆ

Be careful when the tip is worn out!

The most important thing I want to say about this pen is that you need to keep a close eye on the tip to tell when it's worn out. The pixel tip is a metal cone with a small rubber cap. At the end. This small piece of rubber is what you typically drag across the screen. As the tip wears, the rubber on one side detaches and falls away from the metal cone, leaving you with a square metal edge that is now the physical interface with your i-Device's screen. Not good! Carefully! And while theโ€ฆ

I like it when it works. Slow Customer Support

In theory, I really like this stylus, it's better than the Apple Pencil for iPhone and iPad, except for the "Pro" line (if it works). HOWEVER, there appear to be significant quality control issues with Adonit products. I received my first Pixel stylus in October 2016 which stopped working reliably in March 2017 and was replaced under warranty. Then, about a month later, my spare pen stopped charging, so it was replaced a second time (it turned out to be the USB charger). Now my THIRD pixel penโ€ฆ

Rarely works when palm rejection is enabled.

I bought this because the FAQ section on the Notes Plus website said it was the best option. The Adonit Pixel Stylus is VERY UNRELIABLE. Sometimes he writes, in most cases no matter how I stick it in my iPad's screen, he won't even make a point! I am using an Apple iPad mini 4 6 months old with the latest IOS. I do NOT have a screen protector so it can't get in the way. Here is my experience starting with battery at 100%. All programs say that Adonit Pixel is connected. I installed the latestโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pressure Sensitivity and Palm Rejection With 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and improved palm rejection, writes and draws pixels where and how you want.
Cons
  • Functionality

First off, I have 2 iPads (the original iPad Air and the new iPad 9.7, not Pro) and use them regularly to take notes. I've always used foam or mesh tipped styluses and have been fairly happy with their performance, except they don't support palm rejection or pressure sensitivity. These are the features I've been wishing for since I first used the iPad for note-taking at work, especially palm rejection. The Pixel seemed like a good choice for my first active stylus purchase. Its feature setโ€ฆ
