I don't think some reviewers have worn screen protectors before? If that's you, you could be in trouble. I always apply my own screen protectors and rarely have any problems. It was no different. Clean and prepare the surface well and work quickly, but take your time. Align it and press from side to side. Yes, it covers the volume control text. Doesn't matter! Personally, I'd rather not scratch the original screen than see the label on the pen, which I'm familiar with.
