Review on VR Helmet HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset, 2880x1440, 90Hz, Black by Mateusz Grzesiak  (M ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The quality of the product is at the level, I will recommend this product to my friends.

Used to take , in excellent condition - past owners played enough. Perfectly suited for starting in VR and understanding - is it necessary at all. It worked almost out of the box (I had to ate win10), first impressions - "Wow!", But only in the first couple of days. What I didn’t like right away was that there was no focus adjustment, which constantly goes away when you move your head. Image quality. For infrequent gaming use, the helmet will do, because the clarity at such a resolution (1440 * 1440 for each eye) and the performance of the optical part (glare, circles from Fresnel lenses are noticeable, and defocusing is the norm) is far from ideal. Tracking works quite well, but depends on external light and surroundings (using 2 video cameras on the helmet). The controllers are well made and comfortable, but require a bluetooth adapter (not included). And for some reason they are designed for disposable AA batteries with a voltage of 1.5 volts. The most popular AA batteries - Ni-Mh work with low charge messages and manage to give up only part of the stored energy . The helmet belongs to Windows Mixed Reality. Applications are available in the store of the giant itself, but there are not so many free and useful ones. Normal things need to be bought or. The system is also supported on Steam, using its own program. Something does not work, but most programs go (sometimes a control setting is required). You can use the helmet as a monitor (the desktop and application screens are displayed on a virtual monitor), but with a bunch of reservations and a time limit due to the quality of the picture. The video card at the moment is GTX 1650. I thought that it would not pull at all, but it worked (sometimes the rendering speed is clearly not enough).

Pros
  • Inexpensive, controllers included, not the worst picture.
Cons
  • Lack of focus adjustment, there is flare from bright objects. Dependence on lighting. Strange choice of power supplies for controllers (batteries). A giant package of 3 boxes that together weigh more than a helmet (although the protection of the contents is 5+)
