PERFECT FOR 2-1/16 " SENSORS

My convertible has an Auto Meter Ultra-Lite II Boost sensor. I wanted the matching Auto Meter Ultra-Lite II clock (part # 4985).The problem was that the surface the clock was hanging on was quite angular and curved.I looked at several solutions and settled on a set of Auto Meter Angle Rings P/N 2234. To do this job , I used a very thin wheel on a small bench grinder to curve the back of the ring.Through trial and error I finally got the curve right.I also repainted the ring with dark gray paint with a satin clear finish to match the to match other furniture. The result was very good and really gives the interior of my car a unique look. It should be noted that not all small round gauges are 2-1/16". This car Meter 2234 rings have this size. But Auto Meter also produces kit art. 3244 for caliber 2-5/8". So make sure you get the right ones for your specific sensors. You may find that some sensors from Chinese and other Asian manufacturers are actually smaller than 2-1/6". So measure before you buy. Also, be prepared to swap out the aluminum mounting brackets included in the kit. If you mount the gauges at an angle, the surface of the back panel you mount them on will be at an angle to the gauges .Therefore the brackets need to be modified to have the same angle. For myself I took the original plastic bracket that came with my Auto Meter clock and used a sander to give it the correct angle. And if you... using the original bracket, please note that it needs to be significantly shorter to work with the corner template with the ring as a spacer, these seem small overall NEN rings to have been made in the USA with very high quality. They are very durable and the plastic is hard and machinable. However, you'll need to plan for at least some modifications to the mounting bracket you're using, and you may need to change the trailing edge of the rings if your mounting surface isn't perfectly flat.
