My experience with Tiki Cat is that it is a premium brand that you can rely on for pet food with quality ingredients and excellent nutritional value for my cats eat with pleasure. because they like the taste. On paper, Tiki Cat After Dark has some of the highest quality ingredients they've ever used, and the price of Tiki Cat After Dark compared to many of their products definitely reflects that. and fish - they don't absorb any of the nutrients found in grains, fruits or vegetables, which are often used as bulking materials to reduce costs and in some cases provide misleading nutritional information given brands that include large amounts of vegetables and fruits normally indicate the nutritional value of these ingredients, even if cats eating this food do not absorb these nutrients. Grains can be particularly problematic - although they do contain fiber, which is a plus, many cats suffer from digestive issues as grain is not something they would ever eat naturally. To be fair, ingredients like fruits, veggies, and ground seeds can also be used as a spice to enhance flavor, even if they provide little to no nutrients. The idea behind Tiki Cat After Dark is that not all meat is created equal, so offal is included in a mix that would definitely eat large cats in the wild, but which you don't often see on a cat food label (although organs are often part of the ingredient), so-called "animal by-products”, which uses cheap supermarket cat food as a protein source instead of real meat). My cats loved the taste of the box I was given to review and gobbled up all three flavors included as if they were starving, which they definitely aren't. Because they liked it so much I ordered another box and something very strange happened - my cats hated the taste of the food in the second pack of Tiki Cat After Dark as much as they loved the first pack. Twelve hours after I put this thing in their bowls it was almost uneaten and my cats love to eat. I'm not talking about a cat - I have three of them, and none of them will do anything but take a bite and then leave and leave it in their bowls to dry until it finally ends up in the trash. With premium wet cat food from brands I buy regularly, I sometimes notice a difference in texture or consistency, although I always buy the exact same flavor and the flavor can vary on those particular occasions depending on how my cats react to eating anyway - sometimes just with a little more enthusiasm. I've never seen anything similar to how my cats reacted to Tiki Cat After Dark - maybe offal taste different than other meats, or maybe I got a bad batch, but for whatever reason, I'm going to make this special Tiki Cat product definitely will not buy again.
