Review on ๐ŸŒฟ Enhance Your Planted Aquarium with the Fluval Ceramic CO2 Diffuser, A7548 by Julie Youngbear

good value for money

I have kept aquariums with plants for many years using a yeast system and Aeroston. Just before I got this diffuser, I used a CO2 ladder to disperse the CO2 in my 40 gallon planted tank. I realized the CO2 ladder wasn't enough to dilute all the CO2 for my tank size because I didn't see the plants turning yellow under bright lights and it wasted a lot of CO2. I decided to use a ceramic diffuser but didn't want to experiment too much. So I bought this one which was one of the cheapest. Don't associate quality with a cheap price. This little diffuser works really well with my new homemade CO2 generator, which is a citric acid and baking soda system. It creates more than enough pressure for this diffuser to work. I'm not sure if a home made yeast system will work with this as the pressure may not be sufficient and if it builds up enough pressure it takes some time to build up and then tapers off after a few days resulting in CO2 levels in the water leads to swaying. I highly recommend anyone using a yeast system to switch to this system with citric acid unless you plan on switching to a pressurized CO2 tank, which is even better. It is much more stable than the yeast system and the pressure is more stable and much higher. It is very important that the CO2 level in your aquarium does not fluctuate, otherwise you will have problems with algae and your plants will not be able to adapt and develop to the environment, not to mention stress for the fish. Bubbles come out at the edges and feel frustrated. Be patient, after a while (about 1 hour) things will clear up and a very fine stream of tiny bubbles of CO2 will form which almost completely dissipate as they rise to the water surface which in my case is about 15 inches is big. I've placed a diffuser under the printhead which further pushes out the tiny remaining bubbles around the reservoir to further dissolve and disperse the CO2. My plants are now really thriving and beading (oxygenated leaves) under strong lights. I've had it in my tank for over 2 months now and it has never clogged or even grown algae.
