The cable connected directly to the laptop caused the battery to overheat.
A USB cable plugged into a laptop caused the MacBook Pro battery to overheat and had the opposite effect when used as a cooling pad. The package includes a short cable for connecting to a computer, designed only for a computer USB port. The USB solid state connector was not firmly attached to the cable. Seller contacted for further assistance. General disappointment: the cable didn't work properly to cool the battery effectively.
