They can withstand a pretty decent weight and come out of the walls.
This product should be on every college student's shopping list. I use command strips for everything from posters and calendars to decorating my dorm with Hot Wheels cars. Command strips are literally magic. They hold a pretty decent weight and leave your dorm walls AND your posters completely undamaged, which is great for avoiding expensive "bedroom damage" fees at the end of the school year. A tip: You don't actually need a whole bar to place a poster on it, you can definitely cut them in half lengthwise and they still work great. The value pack here is great because it's enough to last you forever.
