This lamp produces a pleasant light and is as bright as advertised. The problem I'm having is that I've tried this in two different three-strip lights. In the lamp I wanted to use, it didn't work as a three-way bulb. It just lit up in two different positions with the same brightness and then went out in the other (like I put a standard bulb in a 3 way bulb). With another lamp it worked as expected. (I tried a Phillips 3 way LED bulb in a bulb where it failed and the Phillips bulb worked fine as did the old 3 way bulb so my bulb isn't the problem. ) If you use these On a van or boat: When I switch to inverter (I have a modified sine wave inverter) this bulb makes a very faint buzz. It's almost imperceptible unless you put your ear to the lampshade, but it's there. This is not a problem with standard shore AC power; only when the inverter is off. I had the same hum with other LED bulbs I've tried.
