To be honest I bought it because it was cheap. However, I was shocked at how cheaply made it was when it arrived. I didn't expect it to last more than a couple of weeks. What a surprise! It does a great job of keeping my laptop cool and no matter how bad I treat it, it just keeps running. I repeatedly dropped it, sat on it, ripped out the string, my 123 pound dog walked on it, chewed on it and threw it across the room. and it still works. Of course it's only been 7 months but it's failed etc etc. For less than $10 it has worked beyond its $8.88 price tag!
