This is actually a 5 star camera!

I have five cars and each has a DVR. I'm not a very good driver and I don't think many other people drive without a DVR like that. For me it's like leaving the house without a phone or wallet! I installed this in my F150 pickup in about 20 minutes. It is possible to mount a backup camera above the license plate at the back of the car but I went with the simpler option and mounted it on the rear window as I carry expensive gear and wanted it to be visible. I keep the camera connected to the network and record 24/7, so I bought the largest memory card this camera can hold (125GB U3). There are a lot of cables if you want to mount a backup camera on the back of your car. There's also a trigger cable that attaches to the reversing light, turning the camera screen into a reversing camera. I like the position of the SD card slot on the side. I have DVRs where it's up and the camera needs to be removed to pull out the card. Other cameras, unlike this one, have a special application that allows you to transfer videos directly to your smartphone. I don't use this feature that often on my other cameras as I prefer to transfer videos to my computer. Dedicated apps tend to be clunky on budget cameras. I am satisfied with the video quality. My video was shot in the rain and I saw an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of a good camera so my stop was a bit dramatic. You can clearly see how it could have gone if I had been in the back or if my truck hadn't stopped. At this price I think this is a great DVR. I like the folder structure and naming system as it makes finding the files you need very easy (you need to set the time and date on the camera first). The only features I would like to see in a future model would be an adhesive windshield mount, a USB port in the charging bay, and GPS for cruise control.

Cons
