Beginner friendly, best for women

I have had this epilator for over a year now. This was my first experience with an epilator and the first time I decided to try it on a sensitive area of my face (don't ask - I have no idea why). Word to the wise, do not attempt to use anything other than your shins and/or armpits until you are comfortable with this device (or any other epilator)! My stupid ass cut my lip with three little cuts because I had no idea what I was doing. Definitely back to the review. At first it was a great epilator. It always seemed to take longer than I expected to charge, but that's okay. But this epilator died a slow death within a year. At first it stopped working when plugged in after just a few months, but that's okay. Then the pink plastic shields began to lift and break. Again, this in no way affected its general use. However, by the year mark it seemed to be starting to disintegrate - didn't work while charging, plastic parts were falling off and I couldn't see the light when/when charging. All in all I've been using it 1-2 times a week for a year and it's still puffing. I definitely feel like I got my money's worth given the great price. Just a few tips for those who are new to this sadistic world of hair removal. I always epilate right after the shower - the pores are open, the skin is clean and the pain feels a lot less. I also clean the skin with witch hazel or alcohol and then apply a light layer of powder. The powder is of great importance so that the epilator does not stick to the skin, slides and catches even the smallest hairs. Just don't use tons of powder - apply a little and then shake off the excess with a towel. After waxing, I cleaned again with witch hazel (sometimes with a little tea tree oil for cuts etc.) and then used powder. Resist the temptation to pluck out missing or short hairs for at least a few hours - you don't want to introduce bacteria with tweezers since all pores are open. I also don't use deodorant for a few hours whenever possible to allow the skin to heal. While in the shower I also started using cleansers and scrubs on the areas I epilate. skin is skin right? Oh what a difference! This removes excess products (e.g. lotion, deodorant) and smoothes the skin and dead cells. This allowed the epilator to work much better and my skin healed much faster! And don't worry too much about the pain. This is bad? Eh The first time sucks, but not enough to make you cry or swear (at least in my opinion). If you prepare yourself with the above steps, it will help TON. And each subsequent lesson becomes much easier. Just resist the urge to shave in between. Growth eventually goes into a cycle :) Hope this helps :)
