Our last trundle bed ended up falling apart but was so popular it set the bar high. The only thing I hoped to improve was that it wasn't waterproof, which I really needed for our aging dog. I saw that this bed offered a lot of protection and ordered it despite the reviews saying it was flat. The order came just in time as our dog contracted a bacterial infection the next day which caused such a large drop of feces that his entire previous bed had to be thrown out. When this bed arrived I was concerned that these reviews were accurate. I've ordered memory foam beds in the past and they inflate much faster. As mentioned in other reviews, I had to manually fluff the memory foam in the rollers. As I did so, I felt some sharp bits in the roller, which made me even more concerned that I had been scammed into buying a lemon bed. I'm glad I waited. After about 3 days it was finally fully inflated and the foam proved to be of better quality than the previous bed. Instead of egg-crate-type foam, it looks and feels heavy, like soft gel-type memory foam in Tempurpedic. The pillows are firm and soft, perfect for snuggling up in or for our old dog to get up on. My dog with arthritis is happy. Photos for the size, my old man weighs 75 pounds. Our 95 lb dog gets jealous and tries to steal the bed when it's available and sometimes joins our other dog they somehow bring to work. managed to soak and soften). I was so scared I'd have to throw out that bed too, but the waterproofing has stood the test. Liquid feces literally collected on the inner waterproof cover without damaging the mattress. I simply removed the outer cover and then put it in the wash. I've soaked waterproof cases in Odormute for a few hours. Like new. Our dogs walked very dramatically and nudged their less than comfortable beds with displeasure while everything was dry. We will definitely be buying more of these as we replace other beds!
