I used a "passive POE" injector with this 1350ft cable, including span-to-span (female-to-female and RJ45 connector) with a DROK boost-buck converter to charge the battery on a mountain with a continuous load of 25 watts. Very low voltage drop, this material is sturdy but easy to use and I love the red color of what I'm doing with it. It's 18/2 and I could probably get by with either cable, but I think it was worth the cost in this case.
