Great toy! best toy for toddlers

While the reviewer who said it's not easy to squeeze pencils to take notes is right, this is still a great toy and my son loves it. He loves squeezing all the toys and I think by 1 year old he should have no problem squeezing his hands. When he gets upset I start composing simple music and he likes that. Pros: 1) Great introduction to sheet music, especially if you're musical and can name the notes 2) Great colors 3) No batteries 4) Smells nice. I have a strong smell of vanilla, although I'm concerned where it's coming from (I'm guessing it's some not-so-friendly chemicals, but I'm not sure) 5) Big! Not just any little toy that a child can just toss around. Cons: 1) The handles are a bit difficult to grip for a very small child. 12 months and older is probably the average age at which a child can take notes independently. That's all. Great toy!
