Review on πŸ“· Pedco UltraPod Lightweight Camera Tripod - Compact & Sturdy Design, Black, One Size by Ranjit Ghosh

sturdy little tripod for travel

I bought this for a trip recently when I was planning to spend a week with just my everyday backpack and I needed the smallest tripod strong enough to not carry Worried about camera tilt/shake. It fit the bill perfectly (and was pretty cheap!) and I'm very happy with it. I use a Sony a5000 with a few extra lenses in addition to the kit lens. This is perfectly normal when shooting with the kit lens, and I had no problem placing it on uneven surfaces while hiking. Plastic pads on the legs prevent the tripod from slipping well. With one of my wide angle lenses, which is much heavier and larger, the camera's center of gravity changes significantly and the rig can tip over if not mounted carefully. In this case, it is easy to find a stable position on a flat surface, but a little more difficult on something uneven. It's not really a design flaw, just physics, and if it really bothers me I'd just upgrade to a bigger version. All in all I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good lightweight tripod for camping or travel use.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
