I was very skeptical that anything would help my dog with caked eyes. But I was desperately trying to find something that might help because her tears were drying up and getting so sticky and hard around her eyes. Both eyes get crusted, but one more than the other. We've been using this product for a few weeks now and I'm happy to report that it HELP break the crust. It would get 5 stars if I applied it and just melted the material, but it doesn't. I've found that I have to use warm water and a small washcloth to dampen and slightly "soften" the area. Then I apply it to the eyelids and lashes and massage gently into the problem areas. You need to reapply, rubbing alternately with warm water and a washcloth for a few minutes. It helps loosen dirt much better than just warm water. I need about 10 minutes to flush both eyes thoroughly.
