The box arrived in satisfactory condition, there are marks on the edge but nothing is damaged. The pastels are quite small, I'd say about two inches, which is good enough if you're using a brush, but that can be an issue if you're using the pastel directly. Depending on the color, these pastels range from soft to medium-hard. This set has a good range of colors and is fairly cheap, so it's good if you're just starting out with pastels. My only complaint is that as seen in the photos, the box has a light wax paper finish that must have come off. traveling and soiled some of the pastels with neighboring colours. This was most noticeable around black, especially on pink and orange next to it. This is easy to fix as simply wiping off the excess pastel will remove the color as it is not smudged.
