Great lens and camera system with one fault

I've had this lens twice because the lens hood got stuck the first time so I sent it in for a replacement. The second lens hood also got stuck, but I had good technical support from Olympus and this person explained to me how to use the lens hood properly. Slowly pull out the lens hood, and then gently fasten it to the right until it stops rotating. If it sticks, you must send it in for repair! Then gently twist it slightly to the left to retract, so that it is loose and free to move back. If you don't handle it carefully, it will get stuck. Olympus technical support is not the same for everyone and I have concerns about this. The Em1 Mark II and this lens are great for bird photography. Olympus Workspace software is great as I don't have Lightroom. You can correct exposure, sharpen, change color, and it fixes things like that to a degree. The lens is built like a tank, it's nice and for a 300mm it's actually a 600mm. I have a 1.4 telephoto extender, but I don't recommend it, the images come out soft. All of this indicates that I'm new to photography, so keep that in mind. I love the Olympus Micro Four Thirds system, camera and lens, but beware of the retractable lens hood.
