Cute flexible bluetooth speaker and radio for standby

Cute retro design, plastic body feels very strong and is well formed, metal carrying handle (which can be used as an antenna?) feels secure and helps to hold on crank , and the dial glows in a pleasant, warm shade of orange. Nice little touches like big, grippy rubber feet to keep it in place. Solar, crank, and micro-USB charging seem to work well, and it's nice that it can also charge your USB devices using solar and crank power. There was no problem using the analog knob to tune to AM, FM, and NOAA weather stations indoors. I'm guessing this is the latest version of Bluetooth 5.0 and they seem to be using a good chip for it, it pairs quickly with my iPhone, allows you to control forward/backward/play-pause without pulling out the phone, seems to hold the signal well and sounds pretty good for a radio of this size/cost and gets pretty loud when you want it. the second speaker on the back, which I think is for the bass (or maybe just a bass port from the main driver) from listening. I plugged it in next to the Peloton and it sounds better/louder than the built in Peloton speakers and left it on a sunny ledge, it also charges automatically which is handy. The flashlight throws quite a bottleneck and also fills up a bit. Definitely better than a long-distance phone. It seems well-chosen for alarms and other emergencies given its flexibility to be powered. It should be noted that if NOAA is broadcasting a coded alert message during emergencies, the radio will not automatically transmit distress weather alerts to NOAA when actively turned on. . Many phones these days also have wireless emergency notifications, but that can be a factor if your phone isn't receiving a signal where you are. Overall it does everything it says on the spec and it does it well. Love that this is a handy bluetooth speaker for picnic/travel/garage use in addition to its on call duty.
