Review on πŸͺ¨ Nagura Stone by Iman by Phillip Reed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Essential for professional blade sharpeners

These should only be used on 1000 grit stones or finer or they will pit Nagura stones. Use each of the 4 sides evenly to keep it square and flat. It is used to clean the stone of small metal particles after use, to re-level the cutting stone after use, and to create the cutting foam required for fine sharpening. Only use it on a damp stone as the water will outweigh the particles so you can simply wipe clean the stone you are working with. If the Nagura stone vibrates when pressed, the stone being cleaned is either too dry or deformed in some way. If it is dry, then moisten it, if the stone is deformed, turn the Nagura stone 45 degrees to the working stone, and smooth the roughness. Remember to always clean the entire stone to keep it flat. Most people tend to start cleaning the stone at about 1/4 of the way and stop or depressurize about 1/4 of the way to the end. This causes the Nagura to create a rocking effect, making the workstone difficult to use. A damp cloth is sufficient to clean the Nagura stone yourself.
