The very first top cable broke but I noticed it much later. I first used it to power a classic Mac Plus computer. Mac Plus is an old computer that might have problems after so many years. It started restarting randomly and then I could barely get it to turn on at all. At first I just thought it was a Mac Plus and bought over $100 worth of stuff to have it fixed. I later used the same power cord to power another modern computer. And surprise, surprise, he showed exactly the same symptoms! What are the odds, right? First it partially restarted to use it, then it restarted during startup and finally it failed to start at all. Wow, two computers from completely different eras, brands and models with the same symptoms, how weird isn't it? It turns out that when I plug in a working power cord, both computers work fine. No problem. The problem is that the power cord is broken and everything it is plugged into is having problems. See, I know it's tricky to manufacture and sometimes there are mistakes, but it's an important component of getting it right. If even one has a defect (especially the first one on the top right!), someone like me can end up spending hundreds of dollars they don't need and thinking a product is broken when in fact it's the power cord. Because who suspects the power cord? The fact that I spent over $100 on things I don't need because of a cheap power cord makes me angry. Worse still, the product is Revain branded and supplied and sold by Revain. I thought Revain was the brand I could trust for something like a power cord. I've never had a problem with the other Revain Basics stuff or Revain in general. Had I known that they have reliability issues from time to time I might have known earlier that the cable might be broken, but all the reviews are great. I wish someone would warn me, "Hey, some of these may not work." Maybe all the other power cords are fine, I really hope so, but you should know that at least some of them are bad. Another thing is that it could potentially pose a fire hazard depending on how the cable is cut and what you are using it for. The cable looks normal visually, the packaging and everything on arrival was fine too. There were no indications that anything could be wrong. Just note that some of them are buggy. You get what you pay for I guess.
