Recently purchased and so far very happy. I am a PhD student and study between 2 and 8 hours at a time. If you are looking for a soft and luxurious experience, then this chair is not for you. The seat is not hard, but firm and supportive. The material is soft and appears to be of a quality that will outlast the next 2-3 years of my PhD studies. Nothing flashy at the back, but good lumbar support does the job. The material is a ventilated mesh construction. The armrests are strong. I'm 5ft 9" and although my feet are able to rest on the floor, I feel very slight pressure on my hamstring at a level nearing the back of my knee. Then I recommend attaching a footrest to raise the back of your knees over the edge of the seat so as not to impede blood circulation. This is important to minimize the risk of blood clots in the leg. So far so good, I'll be back in a few months to update.
