Review on COMeap Power Adapter Workstation 12 Inch by Ronny Welch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits HP Elitedesk 800 G1 TWR with SFF PSU wiring

Does not fit HP Elitedesk 800 G1. The original HP power supply color coding and wiring location matches the sample compatibility reference image. All voltages on the 6-pin Molex adapter harness are correct, e.g. B. +12, -12, ground, etc. All voltages are the same as the original HP wiring harness. I found a red and yellow wiring for a P2 adapter plug that ended in an empty ATX 24 pin connector, I moved it to the common pin position on the ATX 24 pin connector. Still no joy. The green AUX LED on the motherboard (upper right corner) will blink when the adapter is connected. If an original HP power supply is connected, the P2 LED lights up green. I have measured all the voltages for the adapter connected to my CX500 PSU, CPU performance is OK (+12, +12, com, com), Mobo performance is OK, it looks like that problem lies with the P2 connection. No matter where I moved the P2 connections on the adapter, no joy, the green AUX LED flashes when the adapter is connected. Any ideas? Of course it would be nice if it worked. Edit: This works for me. What I found was that the booster's 5vdc to 12vdc backup adapter provided a pulsing voltage to the motherboard (motherboard's 6-pin main power connector), the purple wire, for example, the green LED on the motherboard was pulsing, the system won't turn on. I cut the shrink tubing around the adapter's voltage booster to inspect it. I didn't see anything smoked. The solder joints looked good. I reheated the voltage booster by winding it with a small electric tap. Checked again, this time it worked. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Above. LOL Anyway, I spent two weekends chasing voltages, commons etc with my DMM, tested my CX500 with a PSU tester, all voltages were good. All I can say is that the voltage booster seems a bit unreliable. All I did was remove the heat shrink, visually inspect and measure voltages, ground continuity, etc., then put the heat shrink back on and taped it in place. It seems that when the power plug is removed from the CX500 PSU, the system reverts to the motherboard LED pulsing, as if the cap is charging and then discharging. If I unplug the CX500's 24-pin connector from the adapter and then plug it back onto the motherboard, it goes back to solid green and the system boots with no issues. I moved the adapter yellow and red (they are connected together on pin 24, from bare (NC) on pin 24 to COMM on pin 24. It was a mistake on my part when I was chasing a gremlin. I was a bug 515 PSU fan on boot When I moved the red and yellow connector back to the empty (NC) hole on the 24-pin connector, the 515 PSU boot error stopped on Elitedesk 800 G1 TWR with SFF power wiring on original P2 adapter, eg 4 wires funny not funny when i try to figure it out but hey it works and i hope it keeps working fingers crossed be sure i change my rating to 4 stars and keep one due to pain and suffering lol
