We were looking for a water bottle without the typical metal balls for our Chinese hamster to use at night as the noise while drinking woke my son up. We tried customizing some of the bottles we had here, even tried making our own. We bought the Living World branded version of this Oasis bottle before we bought this one but the glass drinking tube on this bottle had a flattened area where the tube curved down making everything unusable as there wasn't enough room for water was. flow down and displace the air in the drinking tube. This bottle of Oasis works great. It can be a bit finicky so we usually have another bottle in our hamster cage during the day just to be on the safe side. We have found that this bottle works best if you hold the entire bottle in the cage at a slight angle so that as the hamster drinks, the air bubbles continue to the top of the bottle rather than getting stuck at the top of the drinker. . If air gets stuck at the top of the tube where it enters the rubber stopper, you can lure the water down by lightly touching the tip of the tube with your finger. Make sure the bubbles continue to the top of the bottle and you're done. Sometimes air bubbles can get stuck and form large bubbles at the tip of the rubber stopper and eventually the drinking tube will simply fill with air, so you need to be careful. I've seen others discuss how fragile the bottle is and it really is, although we haven't had any issues yet. I've also seen some reviewers say their hamsters chew on the exposed portion of a rubber stopper, although that's not the case for us. I highly recommend this bottle, especially since still water bottles are practically non-existent. It can be a bit fiddly to service, but it's really quiet and completely drip-free. I just made sure the hose was always filled with water and not air.
